THE SUNREEF YACHTS RUNNING TEAM TOOK PART IN A VIRTUAL HALF MARATHON

Due to health and safety concerns, a vast number of mass events and sports competitions were cancelled. In order to adapt to the current situation, the World Athletics Federation (World Athletics) and the local championship committee managed to partly move the World Athletics Half Marathon Championship to the virtual world.

The Sunreef Yachts Running Team took part in the virtual half marathon on October 17. As the actual route was made available to professionals only, the other participants could join the event remotely, running in different locations. The shipyard crew chose the route on the outskirts of Gdansk, Poland, from where they took off at 8:00 in the morning in very good weather conditions. The whole team performed very well, remaining focused and motivated throughout the run.
