Sunreef Yachts continues moving forward in the field of large yacht design and introduces first unit of Sunreef 80 Carbon Line, sailing catamaran concept based on light displacement, performance and speed.
Commissioned by European owner, the Sunreef 80 LEVANTE is made of an advanced composite sandwich combining vinylester, PVC foam and carbon/glass fiber, with a carbon mast and boom in-house made, standing rigging with Kevlar and total sail area of 340 m2, weighing just 45T lightship. The sleek and sporty exterior line was designed carefully to reduce windage and water resistance.
The yacht is meant for fast sailing and can easily reach 15 knots with maximum speeds on sails set for 20+ knots. The Main sail and Genoa are made of Vectran while the Gennaker is made of Cuben Fiber, the best materials available on the market for performance-oriented cruising yachts. Sunreef 80 LEVANTE keeps her balance no matter the wind conditions. She is very easy to maneuver and the steering is very comfortable. Moreover, this yacht is equipped with a system which enables testing the load on the rig when under sail. 12 load pins have been installed on the mast and rigging, so that the skipper is able to check the load and adjust sails accordingly pushing the boat to the safe maximum at all times. Additionally, the black box which registers this data and allows Sunreef Yachts to have access to it is installed on the catamaran. These solutions will help Sunreef Yachts to better adjust the rig on all its future yachts.
The yacht is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests and 4 crew. The portside hull comprises one guest cabin with a bathroom, a fully equipped galley and two crew cabins. The starboard hull features one guest and one children’s cabin, both with private en-suite bathrooms, and the owner’s dressing room and bathroom directly accessible from the master suite on the main deck. For the very first time on a Sunreef single deck catamaran, the owner suite is located on the main deck. This means that the internal cockpit comprises the navigation station, dining area, lounge zone and the owner suite on the front right. As is the case for all Sunreef catamarans, the cockpit and flybridge features dining areas, sunbathing pads and extended storage.
The interior design represents a modern and minimalist style based on white and grey colours with touches of a fresh blend of strong, modern colours.
