After leaving Puerto Montt in Patagonia in March 2009, Laurent Bourgnon and his family spent almost two months navigating the Pacific Ocean heading towards French Polynesia where they decided to settle for the coming year. After more than a year of travelling aboard their expedition yacht, the 70 Sunreef Power JAMBO and visiting a multitude of fantastic places on the way, the family is enjoying the beauty of the Polynesian islands accompanied by a very warm welcome from the part of the locals. Before reaching Polynesia, they called in at Robinson Crusoe Island, Easter Island, the Gambier Islands, the Tuamotu Archipelago with its famous coral atolls and Moorea and Tahiti. After Tahiti, the family departed to Raiatea which they chose for their future home. Here they rented a house and started charter activity with Jambo. Different types of custom charters are being offered to clients ranging from themed charters (diving, sea explorations for scientists, fishing and water sports) to high standard luxury charters with a crew composed of a captain, chef and hostess. Considering that the Jambo is a very special and one-of-a kind yacht, charters are booked in advance by International clientele. In the coming years, Laurent plans to stay for a longer while in New Zealand to improve the children's English. But for the time being.... the whole family will enjoy the Polynesian bliss to the maximum without fixing any dates for the future. Let's wait to see what the warm tropical wind will bring along!
